Welcome to my adventure

How it all began

The first time I had heard about the Camino was when I watched the movie, The Way for the first time. By the third or fourth time, I told my wife Rose that I should walk the Camino. She encouraged me and suggested I look into it. After a little searching on-line, I found “A Pilgrim’s Guide to the Camino de Santiago” by John Brierley to be the recommended best guide-book. After reading it, I decided to list the pros and cons of me walking the Camino. They can be found on my Pros & Cons Page.

I walked 15 miles one day on the Mount Vernon Trail in Virginia to convince myself that I was physically able to walk the Camino. In the guidebook I purchased, the average daily walk is 15 miles. After a lot of research, I started buying my clothes and gear that I would take with on my hike. I also signed up for Rocket Spanish online to learn some basic Spanish phrases to help get me through. I’m planning on a daily post to this Blog as I make my way across Spain. I hope you will follow along with me.
